What we present to you today is a group interview that reflects and tells the story of the new organizational and cultural approach that the company has built and consolidated over recent years.
An evolution born from dialogue, sharing of expertise, and a common vision focused on sustainable innovation and internal collaboration as the driving force.
The recently concluded edition of the K show in Düsseldorf represents one of the most significant milestones in the long history of Rodolfo Comerio, a mechanical company founded in 1878 and a world leader in the production of calenders for rubber and plastic.
The company from Solbiate Olona (VA) arrived at the international event with several innovations, starting with a new commercial organization that further strengthens RC’s presence in global markets.
The team has expanded with the addition of Nicola Simondo, the new Head of Sales for the Plastic Industries division, and Alessandro Bonfanti, Sales Manager for the Rubber division.
At the same time, RC has initiated a restructuring of the technical functions to increase responsiveness to customers and give new momentum to the innovation process.
The new technical-commercial team was welcomed with great enthusiasm, confirming the reliability and expertise reputation that has always distinguished the Rodolfo Comerio brand, a benchmark in Italian precision mechanics.
The introduction of these new roles marks the conclusion of the company reorganization process that began at the end of 2024 with the generational transition that led Nicola Fedele and Francesco Fiamminghini to take on the role of Managing Directors.
Nicola Fedele, Executive Managing Director Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Business Development at RC, expresses a particularly positive view of the recently concluded edition:
“The efforts made in recent years to expand our network of agents and enhance territorial coverage are yielding concrete results, with a significant return in terms of new contacts and commercial opportunities.”
A source of great satisfaction comes especially from the resilient flooring sector, an area in which Rodolfo Comerio boasts consolidated expertise.
“Our experience in the resilient flooring segment,” adds Fedele, “has proven to be the winning card for maintaining our position as a leading company in terms of innovation and research.”
Testifying to this leadership, RC celebrates the installation of a new line for the production of resilient flooring at one of the world’s leading companies in the flooring sector.
The new line, capable of producing up to 14 tons/hour of material, represents the fifth installation made for the same customer: a result that confirms the trust and continuity of a partnership built over time.
Francesco Fiamminghini, Executive Managing Director Purchases, Finance, and Logistics at RC, highlights satisfaction with the new technological collaborations launched during the exhibition:
“We are particularly proud of the synergies developed with some of the main suppliers of automation systems. Among these, the collaboration with TIELEMETRY® stands out, representing an important step towards greater integration between precision mechanics and the digitalization of production processes.”
This partnership aims to make Rodolfo Comerio’s calenders and plants increasingly connected, intelligent, and oriented towards sustainability, offering a tool capable of transforming process data into useful information to improve machine performance and reliability.

The experience at the K show clearly highlights that the market for high-precision machinery continues to attract significant investments, despite the complex geopolitical context and volatility in consumer goods demand.
The RC commercial team returns from Düsseldorf with encouraging signals from both the plastics and rubber sectors, confirming the solidity, innovation, and strategic vision that have guided Rodolfo Comerio worldwide for almost 150 years.
The central theme of this edition of the K show in Düsseldorf was the search for alternatives to the traditional PVC processing through calendering.
Our customers are investing in the development of innovative polymers, aiming to open new pathways in application sectors so far unserved by the calendering industry.
“Once again, we arrived ready to meet customer demands, and the effort put into the realization of the new CCTC is proof of this,” concludes Nicola Simondo, emphasizing Rodolfo Comerio’s constant commitment to transforming technological challenges into concrete opportunities for sustainable innovation.
For those who do not already know, the COMERIO CALENDERING TECHNOLOGY CENTER represents the result of a long-term strategic investment, along with the cooperation of ICMA SAN GIORGIO who supplied the extruders: an integrated operational environment dedicated to the development, experimentation, and validation of innovative calendering processes on an industrial scale.
The research activities of the Center have been entrusted to Lorenza Marchini, a professional with proven experience in thermoplastic materials and calendering processes.
In her role as coordinator of the Comerio Calendering Technology Center, she promotes an integrated approach that combines applied research, sustainability, and industrialization, aiming to consolidate the Center as a point of excellence for technological innovation.
The expertise in the formulation and validation of new materials, along with the ability to interact with designers, technicians, and international customers, helps ensure high-quality standards and concrete results.
Thanks to this approach, every new project developed by Rodolfo Comerio stems from a personalized vision, built on the specific needs of customers and oriented towards the principles of the circular economy, waste reduction, and energy efficiency.
The goal is to ensure rapid production changes and continuous improvement of industrial performance—now indispensable elements to compete in a global market increasingly attentive to sustainability and process optimization.
The pilot lines of the Calendering Center allow working with a wide range of materials, offering a unique context for applied research and the development of cutting-edge solutions.
This space is not just a technology center but a true laboratory of ideas, where new horizons for the future of calendering are explored.
In closing, we leave the floor to Carlo Comerio, Chairman of the Board and the true driving force behind this important project.
“With this new technology center,” he states, “we aim to provide companies worldwide with a space where they can test, innovate, and improve their production processes by adopting a sustainable approach guided by the data derived from them.”
