Particularly suitable for the production of plastic films, single or laminated to different support materials, they allow the production of a top quality film up to a minimum thickness of 200 microns, for their application both in the field of rigid PVC for packaging and for the production of soft highly-filled materials having a high thickness.
4-ROLL F- OR L-SHAPED CALENDERS
Particularly suitable for the production of plastic films, single or laminated to different support materials, they allow the production of top quality films, both in terms of dimensional stability and of surface quality, within a wide range of thicknesses, able to satisfy the most demanding production needs and guaranteeing the highest flexibility of use.
5-ROLL F- OR L-SHAPED CALENDERS
Particularly suitable for the production of plastic films, they allow the production of top quality films, both in terms of dimensional stability and of surface quality, within a wide range of thicknesses, and are specifically suitable for the production of rigid film requiring the possibility to be printed on both sides or thin materials for adhesive tapes or pharma packaging.
CALENDERS FOR ADHESIVE TAPES
5-roll calenders designed to produce rigid film made of PVC resin emulsion dedicated to the production of adhesive tapes. Thanks to the particularity of the calendering process, the film produced is characterized by excellent mechanical characteristics and high breaking loads.
CALENDERS FOR FLOORING
2-ROLL I-SHAPED CALENDERS
Suitable for the production of the LVT flooring base layer, usually consisting of highly-filled soft PVC, possibly laminated with support glass fibre, up to a maximum thickness of 3 mm in one layer and for the production of flexible flooring, consisting of a soft PVC film having high thickness, laminated to a support material.
3-ROLL I-SHAPED CALENDERS

Special unwinding and pre-heating unit for the material that is laminated to the calendered sheet directly inside the calender.
TAKE-OFF AND STRETCHING UNIT WITH MULTIPLE ROLLS
Specifically designed and created to ensure the best quality performance for produced films in terms of accuracy and dimensional stability and the highest flexibility of process control, they stand out for the implementation of high-level technical solutions, such as the independent drive of each roll, that allows the operator to choose the best way to take-off the sheet from the calender roll.
EMBOSSING UNITS WITH FAST CHANGE SYSTEM
According to production needs and to the level of automation required, lines may be provided with the system allowing to change product in less than 1 minute without stopping the production, and to facilitate maintenance interventions, reducing dramatically necessary times.
AUTOMATIC WINDERS
The series ranges from simple arrangements on carriage to more complete and highly automated solutions, such as turret winders provided with automatic cutting and threading systems till the packaging of reels. Possibility to wind reels having a diameter up to 1500 mm, a width up to 4500 mm and a speed up to 360 m/min, both in case of delicate materials requiring extremely low and controlled tensions and of heavy materials that need much higher tensions.
PRE- AND POST-CALENDER FOR FLOORING
UNWINDERS
Able to satisfy every type of need, both in terms of ergonomics and of automation, ranging from simple systems to more complex and automated solutions, the different types of solutions developed allow the realization of the joining in manual, semi-automatic and automatic mode. Interesting systems for reel loading handling were also developed, capable to satisfy even the most demanding standards, such as the need to replace a reel every two minutes.
LAMINATING UNITS
Some specific laminating lines may be suggested according to the structure of finished products, for the combination of different layers, with the possibility to laminate up to 7 material layers in one continuous process.
EMBOSSING-IN-REGISTER SYSTEM
Lines may be integrated with embossing systems, including embossing in register, specifically developed and patented by Rodolfo Comerio, that guarantees the perfect synchronization of the embossing texture with the pattern of the printed film within the continuous production process.
SLAB CUTTING AND STACKING SYSTEMS
Systems specifically developed for the stacking of LVT slabs produced in continuous, guaranteeing slab alignment accuracy through beating devices, complete with roller conveyors for empty pallet loading and full pallet unloading.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS FOR GAP CONTROL
RC GAPSystem, the sophisticated hydraulic adjustment of rolls’ shifting, provided with a powerful calculation system to check and display the position of every roll side, allows to guarantee a precise and constant sheet thickness through the electronic position control with closed loop system that measures the lamination GAP.
BANK CONTROL ON ROLLS 1-2

According to the material quantity, the following calender feeding systems are adjusted:

AIR-PRICKING ROLL
Air-pricking roll installed in the calender to remove any air entrapment directly on the calendered sheet.
CALIJET DEVICE
System working with temperature controlled air jets for the automatic correction of the thickness transversal profile that, installed against one of calender rolls, adjusts locally the diameter of the roll and, consequently, the pressure on the sheet.

FAST DISASSEMBLY OF TAKE-OFF ROLLS
Carriage, movable onto wheels, that may be manually placed below the take-off unit, to carry or receive the roll to be replaced.
CLEANING ROLLS
Installed above and below take-off rolls, they have the task to remove any material residuals left on roll surface. They are designed to be easily extracted by the operator in order to replace the cleaning covering.
ANTI-NECKING DEVICES
Spreading devices consisting of a couple of wheels placed at sheet ends, having the function to maintain a constant material width during the phase of film taking off.
FAST DISASSEMBLY OF CALENDER ROLLS
Device that allows the fast and simultaneous extraction of finishing calender rolls, reducing considerably maintenance stops and optimizing plant OEE.

PRE- AND POST- CALANDER FOR TIRES
PATENTED RUBBER UNWINDERS
Unwinders of fabrics to be rubberized characterized by an invention patented by RODOLFO COMERIO, which makes automatic the threading of the new head of fabric and the insertion of a rubber stripe in the press to perform the joint in a few seconds, considerably reducing the capacity of the accumulator, obtaining perfectly stretched fabric heads and tails and significantly decreasing the waste of material of the joint.
END-COUNT ROLLS
Steel rolls specially designed to prarrange the end-count of the steel cord web to be laminated to the rubber sheets between calender rolls 2-3. The size and distribution of the grooves is customized according to the types of steel cords used, from the thinnest to the thickest diameters. The rolls are lodged in special supports that allow them to be quickly replaced.
EBR (Electron Beam Radiator)
Inserted downstream of the calender, this special device allows materials for carcass belts and innerliner for tires to undergo an electron beam (EB) crosslinking process before the curing. This treatment allows to use thinner calendered rubber sheets, lowering raw material costs, making the tire lighter and contributing to higher quality.
WINDERS WITH INCLINED CUTTING
Dual shuttle type winder with the corresponding liner unwinders equipped with the respective centering units, above which a transversal cutting unit is placed to allow to automatically cut the produced material with an angle between 90° and 45° as to the production axis, allowing to reduce the waste in the processes following the calendering, where it would avoid to perform trimmings to the material head.
PRE- AND POST- CALENDER FOR OTHER SECTORS
PRINTING BLANKET LAMINATION
Special device to laminate the material on calender roll 4, consisting of a pressing roll made of welded steel, superficially finished with rubberizing treatment and mounted on bearings lodged in special supports that allow quick replacement.
COOLING UNIT
Unit designed to cool calendered material, consisting of rolls with jacketed stainless steel surface, equipped with special rotary joints complete with flexible hoses, fluid distribution manifolds and proportional valves for automatic temperature control.
FLY-CUTTER FOR INNERLINER
Unit with motorized knife consisting of a rotating blade, controlled by a gearmotor, which allows to cut the material crosswise.
The blade unit can be adjusted in distance from the belt by means of micrometric screws.
WINDERS FOR CONVEYOR BELTS
The peculiarity of this machine is the possibility to wind-up the multilayer composing a conveyor belt directly in line, with a system developed by RODOLFO COMERIO with very high precision in lamination, simplifying the normal production cycle, with consequent cost savings.

CALENDER WITH HYDROSTATIC SURFACE (RC SF-FREESystem)
Revolutionary technology patented by RODOLFO COMERIO that reduces to zero the friction between the sliding support and the sliding surface of the roll, equipped with hydrostatic pockets to which a multi-circuit lubrication of the system RC SF-FREESystem provides the necessary amount of oil and pressure and protection against overloading without the sliding surfaces coming into contact with each other. The result is better penetration of the rubber between fabric fibers or steel cord intersections, which allows to reduce product thickness and thus lower costs.
SPECIAL STOCK GUIDES
The stock guides, fixed to the machine by means of a support shaft and moved by means of motorized mechanical jacks, can be easily tilted for cleaning and approached to the rolls by means of pneumatic cylinders.
STEEL ROLLS
RODOLFO COMERIO, unless otherwise specifically requested by the Customer, uses ALLOYED FORGED STEEL for the rolls of the calender, which guarantees a very low flexion of the rolls under work, thus allowing fewer corrections by the roll-bending and cross-axis devices in production and fewer interventions by the operator, guaranteeing a better precision of the final product.
The special grinding finishing of the surface avoids rubber adhesion, even for the stickiest compounds.

UNWINDER WITH PATENTED BIADHESIVE
Unwinders of fabric to be rubberized, characterized by an invention patented by RODOLFO COMERIO, which makes automatic the threading of the new head of fabric and the insertion of a stripe of double-sided tape in the press to perform the joint in a few seconds, considerably reducing the capacity of the accumulator, obtaining fabrics heads and tails perfectly stretched and flat and significantly decreasing the waste of material of the joint.
PREHEATING OVEN
Temperature-controlled machine specially designed to reduce the residual moisture in the fabric to be rubberized, consisting of a special structure coated with highly heat-insulated panels, with opening doors for material threading.
AUTOMATIC THREADING WINDERS
Innovative automatic system that does not require any direct intervention by the operator for the operations of threading and material winding start, with enormous advantages in terms of safety and reduction of bobbin changing times. The accumulation capacity of the post-calender accumulator can therefore be considerably reduced, with a consequent saving in plant costs.
CARRIAGE WINDERS
Exclusive winder patented by RODOLFO COMERIO, made up of a central element, to which two extractable carriages are hooked, one on each side, each equipped with a winding beam of the rubberized material and one for unwinding the service liner, sliding on the ground orthogonally to the line to facilitate the bobbin extraction and introduction operations.
This halves the number of motors and control drives, eliminates the need for hoists to load and unload bobbins, and reduces both operating time and the number of operators.

AUTOMATIC FEEDING DEVICE
RODOLFO COMERIO automatic compound feeding device, consisting of a group of pick-up and distribution of the compound from the pallet to the gap of the rolls of the mill.
STOCK BLENDER
RODOLFO COMERIO Stock Blender device, consisting of rolls and fixed on the 2-roll mill frames, allows to significantly improve the homogeneity of the compound, cooling it. The special scraper blades guarantee the cleaning and the diverting of the compound between the rolls of the mill, for an optimal result.
STRIPE-CUTTING KNIVES
Strip-cutting knives to pick up the material from the mill, fixed to the machine or retractable under the tank; with fixed or circular blade; automatically adjustable in width, with motor and display of the height, by means of the control system of the quantity of material present between the rolls of the calender.

ASSISTANCE FROM REMOTE CONTROL ROOM
Innovative remote assistance service with augmented reality that allows a remote interaction between Rodolfo Comerio’s technicians, directly connected from the suitably equipped control room (RC REMOTE CONTROL ROOM), and customer’s technicians and operators, through the use of a dedicated app and of special tools that allow a continuous direct contact with our technical staff with remote connection to the PLC or real-time visualization of the plants through augmented reality.
REVAMPING OF OUTDATED LINES
Revamping of production lines or single equipment aimed to improve the quality and enlarge the product range, as well as to increase production, thanks to the implementation of our most innovative systems, among which RC RUN SAFE PACK, and of automatized processes. The optimal revamping is proposed after a careful study of the possible integrations and a verification of the Customer’s existing equipment status.
INDUSTRIAL PLANT TRANSFER
Machinery transfer service from one location to another, or within the same location (to another production point) of all machinery, with machinery and production lines transportation to the new location. Our service is flexible because it can be requested totally or partially.
